PA Workshop

The Muller Film & Television Education Foundation P.A. Workshop is a two-day, intensive introductory course that comprehensively teaches the requirements of a career in the film industry.
 
Taught by working industry professional Justin K. Muller of the former The Studios at Las Colinas, the Workshop is designed to not only educate the students in set etiquette and terminology, but also introduce the participants to professional crew and vendors that live and work in their area, thus beginning their networking opportunities for finding employment.

DAY ONE:
  •  Studying the Production Assistant Handbook
  •  Developing a résumé
  •  Implementing the STAR Method
  •  Familiarizing with set lingo and terminology
  •  Working in public relations
  •  What to wear to work
  •  Recognizing the different types of PAs
  •  Making important network connections
  •  Searching for real world job opportunities
 
DAY TWO:
  •  Working on a professional set
  •  Practicing set/radio etiquette
  •  Learning proper use of professional cameras
  •  Handling lifts
  •  Setting up lighting equipment
  •  Training grip and gaffer technique
  •  Enforcing lock-downs
  •  Running and driving talent and celebrities
 
 
Upon completing the Workshop, participants will receive a P.A. Workshop Training Certificate from the Muller Film & Television Education Foundation.
 
To participate in this workshop, students must be 13 years of age or older. In accordance to the hands-on nature of this course, students must bring a black t-shirt and jeans, close-toed shoes, hats, sun-block, and sunglasses.
